This residential property in Torquay, Devon needed some increased privacy for the upstairs bedroom windows.
A difficult task to maintain the light levels whilst increasing privacy and with a partial dual aspect diluting the effect. After testing several medium samples our customer opted for the Sterling 50 which has 45% light transmission and 30% exterior reflection. Most medium reflective windows films have around 35-40% reflectance so this is right on the limit whilst allowing more light through.
The Solar Gard Sterling series is a spectrally selective film with a high level of visible light transmission. The Sterling series also provides extraordinary solar energy rejection performance. This allows for a luminous and more beautiful interior while ensuring a comfortable and temperate environment.
Sterling window films offer a range of options – from lightly tinted, hardly noticeable from the inside, to darker films that provide a greater degree of protection from heat and glare. Sterling 50, 60 and 70 window films are a good choice for uv fade protection as they provide 99% uv block along with heat and light reduction, Sterling 20 or 40 are a better choice when privacy is required with the Sterling 40 becoming a very popular residential choice due to its subtle appearance.
