Mireille Gillings Glass Manifestations
Our latest project at the Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Centre in Exeter was to install glass manifestations to the entrance lobby to meet Glass Manifestation and Building regulations 2000: Part M.
The Building Regulations 2000: Part M states that glass entrance doors and glass screens will satisfy requirement M1 or M2 if:
a) They are clearly defined with glass manifestation on the glass at two levels: between 850mm and 1000mm and between 1400mm and 1600mm above the floor, contrasting visually with the background seen through the glass (both inside and out) in all lighting conditions.
b) Manifestation takes the form of logo or sign at least 150mm high (repeated if on a glazed screen), or a decorative feature such as broken lines or continuous bands, at least 50mm high.
Instead of the standard dot, circle or stripe manifestations our customer opted for solid frost banding to the cover the regulation heights. With the Film Handler window film machine we cut all these to size onsite.
Whilst there we also added some bespoke frosted banding to the office door to increase privacy. The staff room door viewing window and clinical room received full frosted window film to provide maximum privacy.
Hanita Matte frosted window film is just one of many different types of window film we use to provide glass obscuration and it is also suitable for meeting Glass Manifestation and Building Regulations 2000: Part M specifications. We also provide a wide range of Decorative window films from Llumar and Solyx which can be used to meet glazing regulations or for a more bespoke look to your home or office.
